The app runs slow
Here are some possible reasons why transcription on your Mac might take longer than expected
Your Mac doesn’t have enough free memory available
AI Transcription works completely locally — all calculations are performed directly on your Mac. Offline transcription is a demanding task, especially requiring memory. When your Mac’s memory is full, it noticeably affects the app’s performance. In such cases, closing other memory-hungry apps that might be running in the background can help. For very long audio recordings, it may also be useful to split them into smaller parts.
You’ve set the priority to “Precision” in the settings
The “Precision” priority setting may offer the best results, but it also requires significantly more resources from your hardware and generally takes more time. Depending on your Mac’s specs and age, this setting might simply not be practical for you. The “Speed” priority can also deliver excellent results, depending on the quality of your source material.
